Saturday DAY

Registration is coming.... and here are more potential events on the list

SATURDAY DAY, September 21st.

We have already given you a taste of what to expect if you choose to go on the SSHS Tour.   A Tour of good old South Side High will be offered during the day Saturday.  Wondering what has become of our Old Alma Mater?  From some vantage points, the ivy-covered exterior hasn't changed much, but 'boy-oh-boy', wait till you get inside! Did you know that they have changed the main Entrance from Calhoun Street to the North side of the Building; and a Parking Lot separates SS from its Natatorium? And, yes, the building that housed 'Millers', still stands, but it has gone through many different 'face lifts', since we all savored their yummy Ice Cream!]

OR you may want to take advantage of the "BE A TOURIST IN YOUR OWN HOME TOWN" self-guided WALKING TOURS, or take a guided TOUR RIDING in an Actual old-fashioned Trolley. Our Celebrated "Coney Island Weiner Stand" can be the 'Start/Stop' point for connection.  Lunch will be 'on-you-own', so you may want to hook up with some other classmates, while you savor one of these famous 'puppies'

Those returning to Fort Wayne after a long absence will be amazed at how much the Thumbprint of Fort Wayne has Changed!  Instead of buzzing Halls, come "trolley~buzz"  "HARRISON SQUARE" ~ described as "A Jaw-Dropping Masterpiece!"  This 'three-legged' Complex sits right smack-dab in the middle of Downtown. Those of you who came to our 50th Reunion know that It consists of a new $31 Million Dollar, 8,000/Seat Downtown Baseball Stadium, "Parkview Field",  Home of the Fort Wayne "Tincaps!" - think Johnny Appleseed.  The other two legs are the 250 Room Courtyard by Marriott Hotel, & a Condominium/Retail conglomerate, THE HARRISON.   Right across the Street is the Huge HILTON Grand Wayne Center (one of our Reunion's Hotels). You'll also be amazed at the Brand New FW Public Library, the dazzling, dancing fountains at Headwaters Park  & the Rivergreenway, the Zoo's, just opened, $9.2 million African Journey, and the popular Interactive Science Central!!

If you're like most of us, you've never actually visited the outstanding 'jewels' of FW that people come from far & wide to see. Have you ever been to the Nationally acclaimed Children's Zoo with its 1000+ Halloween Pumpkins, just ranked by Parent's magazine as one of its "Top Ten Zoos for Families!; the Nation's Largest Public Genealogy Library {October is Family History Month}; our National Historic Court House; the tri-pyrimid Foellinger-Freiman Botanical Conservatory; the Corvette Classics, or Cathedral Museums; or the breath-taking Embassy Theatre & world famous Organ?  You Can See "Some" of these SIGHTS if you take the Downtown TOUR!!!

Stay Tuned to your Class Family Website in the Months ahead to learn more "fascinating facts" about Your Own Home Town ..... For example, did you know that Fort Wayne is a Hall of Fame City?  We just captured another "All-American City Award" which places us in the prestigious Hall of Fame!  "Come See What We Look Like Now"

SEPTEMBER is getting close to COLLEGE FOOTBALL time!! Worried about missing your team play? If there are enough of you die-hard "Pigskin" fans, we may "Huddle" ya' all together for watching your favorite College Football Team on a Big Screen TV at one of our Local Sports Bars!  You may want to catch-up & swap stories on Saturday while participating in this.

Or what about an "Archer Afternoon All-Around"? Maybe you just want to spend the reunion time 'visiting and sharing', and may be interested ina Designated Downtown  "Hang/out-Drop/In" Gathering Spot for the afternoon ? This would be a Central place where Archers could congregate or "stop-by" to 'check out whose hangin out'! Like a 'Halls / Azars' "Buzz In, Buzz Out, Buzz By" hot spot where we would know we could 'find each other' ~~ Do you like the Idea of an "Archer Lost & Found!"?

Maybe Saturday, during the day, you'd prefer to be on your own?  You can get together & reminisce while lounging around one of the Hotel's Indoor Pools, or strike out on your own walking tour of our architecturally renowned downtown "Historic District". Or you might rather get re-acquainted while Shopping at one of our, now, 2 major shopping centers, or a side trip to Shipshewana or one of the Outlet Malls. Keep an eye on this Website, for an array of endless possibilities for you to engage your time ......... or maybe for your Guest to enjoy, rather than be bored while you are enthralled in a Yesteryear that they never knew.

We have already mentioned 3 of our suggested SELF-GUIDED TOUR points of Interest, if you have not already done so, you must check out the "You're Invited"... Link for:
