Phyllis Ann Pierson Kirtley
Phyllis Ann (Pierson) Kirtley, age 78, passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by family on June 21, 2025. She was born February 19, 1947 in Fort Wayne, IN to Stephen and Ann Pierson. She graduated from South Side High School in Fort Wayne and from Indiana University in Bloomington completing a Batchelor’s of the Arts with distinction in 1968, an M.B.A in 1970, and her Doctor of Business Administration in 1974. Phyllis married William (Bill) Kirtley and enjoyed 25 years together. Phyllis worked at Selby Gardens where she made many friends and was also very involved with Concordia Lutheran Church, where she was an Elder and served as vice president and financial secretary. Phyllis is survived by her brother, Terry Pierson of Sarasota, and step-daughters Kathey Schmanski and Kristy Lonsdale (Husband Bob) of Sarasota; three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces. Her husband, William Kirtley and brother Victor Pierson predeceased her. Memorial donations in memory of Phyllis can be made to Concordia Lutheran Church Alter Guild. A Celebration of Life will be held at Concordia Lutheran Church July 6, 2025 at 2:00 p.m.
