Obituary
Douglas Robert Trier passed away on May 28th , 2023, at age 76. He was born October 31, 1946,
to the late Robert W. Trier and Gloria (Aldrich) Trier in Littlerock, Arkansas. He was a graduate
of South Side High School in Fort Wayne, Indiana and proudly served his country in the U.S.
Navy during the Vietnam war.
He is survived by his children Jeff (Holly Hunter) Trier, Jodi Genth, grandchildren Keaton,
RaeAnne, Hunter and Aidan. Also surviving are his sister, Jan (John) Olson and brother, Eric
(Coeleen) Trier.
He was an avid golfer and had a passion for cars. He was the ultimate “Mr. Fix It” and could fix
just about anything and loved doing so for friends and family.
He was a journeyman plumber by trade and worked in Fort Wayne before moving to Colorado.
His last full-time job before retirement was at Rocky Flats Nuclear plant in Colorado.
He will be fondly remembered by his Alcoholics Anonymous family as a dedicated leader and
sponsor to many.
Honoring Doug’s wishes, his body has been cremated and his ashes will be spread at his favorite
places. A celebration of his life will take place at the home of Jeff and Holly Trier on Saturday,
June 24, 1 - 4pm. Everyone is welcome and address is available upon request.
