In Memory
Bruce M. Brown
Bruce's widow, Rebecca, must have seen our announcements of the 60th Reunion because she posted ".. deceased in 2023"...nothing more.
I tried communicating with her saying how my heart ached for all the loss she had experienced. She is still in the grips of a significant grief cycle, not wanting or being able to discuss Bruce's passing. I reassured her that it was not my intention to intrude on her grief, but I asked her to consider that Bruce may have wanted his classmates to know of his passing. She did permit me to share some of our conversations. Having read Bruce's Profile, I cited some of his words and thoughts saying that he loved her very much. This was her response.
Dear Nancee,
Thank you for your reply. We did not allow a public obit as I am and our sons are very private people.
Thank you for your very kind condolences.
I can't quite bring myself to read Bruce's profile page even though he has been away for 15 months. I'm sure there is nothing there that I don't already know and lived with everyday for 54 years. He was a loving, sweet husband, father and grandfather. The only correction I would make is he was never lazy or ornery! (Bald? Yep!)
I will tell you that he died of congestive heart failure. I miss him every moment.
Best wishes to you.
Rebecca

An Obituary is, after all, just a recital of one's life thoughts and experiences. Our Profile Questions have continued to be an inspiring blessing as we get to hear from our classmates an obituary of sorts in their very own words. I am grateful to Bruce for having the foresight and inspiration to share with us some of himself. I, therefore, encourage you to read Bruce's Profile page for a fairly good insight as to the kind of man he was.
