 What Does the Class of '64

Have To Do With The

SSHS Alumni Association?

Actually, our Class is well represented on the SSHS Alumni Association's Board of Directors.  Currently serving are:

NANCY KELLER ~ We are so grateful to Nancy for agreeing to be the Editor of the Alumni Association's Official Publication, "The Arrows".  This is a Perk of Membership that under Nancy's leadership has become a much sought-after 'read'. {More about this later }

MR. GEORGE DAVIS ~ While Mr. Davis probably "belongs" to all the classes he taught, we like to claim him for our very own. Mr. Davis'signature is probably on all the Board's Committees, but he is active with the Membership and the Chair of the "Alumni Association Memorabilia Collection Committee."  In addition to providing a space for the 'Alumni Office'and an Alumni Office Manager, the school has graciously given us two large display cases, and a room to house the Memorabilia Collection. Mr. Davis is currently cataloging the items already housed in this collection, rotating the items displayed in the cases, and soliciting memorabilia for this impressive collection.

NANCEE LOUGHEED ~ Nancee is involved with the Membership Committee, and helping Mr. Davis with the Memorabilia Collection.

The following is authored by Mr. Davis as part of a Membership recruitment:

"The Arrows" ~ As mentioned above, under Nancy Keller's leadership, this newsletter has gained some significant renown. The ONLY way to receive a copy is to become a member of the SSHS Alumni Association.

On the Front Page of the current Winter 2011 issue is an article titled "Connections" which features memories of our very own '64 classmates Ed Kimble, Jim Lambert, and Phil Waldrop.

There is a personal article by Lois Dinkle who often contributes fascinating stories in the "Remember when ...." running feature.  Lois is from the Class of '45, and as she writes, "we were the only class to have attended South Side for the entire duration of the war, beginning to end."  The story she shares of SSHS's contribution to the war efforts is truly inspiring. After you read it, I guarantee you will be bursting with Archer Pride!

To give you a 'peek' inside this exceptional little newsletter, Nancy Keller has given us permission to share the following article that should be of interest to all of you:
