OBITUARY
Carl William Applegate
MAY 14, 1946 – FEBRUARY 7, 2023
Carl W. Applegate, 76, of Hudson, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2023, surrounded by his family.
He was born on May 14, 1946, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the son of the late Carl and Mary Applegate. He graduated from South Side High School in 1964. He served in the Army and was a member of the American Legion Post 0257 in Fremont, Indiana.
Carl owned three neighborhood taverns and met many good friends while working there. He was the President of the Indiana Tavern Owners Association for many years. He enjoyed spending his winters in Florida and taking Caribbean cruises. He loved riding around in his golf cart during the summers at his lake house.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Carolene; two sons, Carl Applegate and John Applegate; a stepdaughter, Lisa Beber; grandchildren, Shelby Applegate, Matt Beber, Holly Beber, and Andrew Beber; and one great-grandson, Wesley Applegate.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are being handled by Neptune Society.
