In Memory

Patricia A. Slater (Nangle)

Patricia A. Slater (Nangle)

Patti was married to Warren Nangle. Both Patti and Warren passed on in 1969 leaving a son, Michael Christopher Nangle Swift. He was adopted by the Swifts when he lost his parents at age 2. He now lives in Las Vegas with his wife. Patti was extremely talented as a vocalist/musician, poet and artist. I remember her singing in the hallways at SSHS and writing poems at a moments notice about something she thought was special. A true loss of a special person at a young age.

Patty and I knew each other through church - we were both "preacher's kids"- and shared an infrequently voiced but deep understanding of how complicated life could be. She and I learned to play guitar at the same time, and we sometimes played together. I played mostly for my own amusement, Patty to accompany her singing and to share her musical gift with others. I remember her excitement as she mastered her 25th chord, and as she began performing in FW clubs. She was a sensitive spirit, a gregarious person, and a friend. I am glad we knew each other.

Loved Patricia.....we both attended Plymouth Church and we're in its choir. She had such a strong beautiful voice!  Her father was a very very talented organist and choir director with a strong hand for perfection. I wish I had spent more time with her one on one.  What a huge loss!  I hope she is singing for all the heavens to hear!  RIP Patty ........
