Byron lived in Fort Wayne his entire life.
He married Nancy Peterson (South Side Class of '63) and they had two children - Lucinda Fromm and Darrel Fromm.
Byron and Nancy were divorced and he remarried.
He passed away August 8, 2004 as the result of a massive heart attack.

I was a friend of Byron's. We played some poker together at another friend's house when we were young. Sorry to hear of his passing. Good memories.

Dear Class,

We owe the above Obituary posting to Roberta Nottingham.  She shared with me how it was that she came to find it.  I thought is was such an interesting story that I asked Roberta's permission to share it with you, and I am grateful that she agreed:

Nancee:

Linda M. Welch Bailey posted on his memorial page that he died as a result of a massive heart attack and had listed the names of his two children.  Because of what Linda had posted, I was able to confirm I had the right Byron Fromm.  I had a special interest in Byron because he was "going" with my sister in 1962 when she was killed in an automobile accident and I had to give him back his ring she was wearing.

Roberta

When I asked Roberta if she would share a little bit more about her Sister, she wrote this, which I think reflects positively on Byron, and belongs here with other memories of him :

Margaret (we called her Peggy) had just turned 14 (October 12) when she died on November 6.  Last night I remembered something else.  There was a group of us going to (I think) a dance out by the Clyde Theater.  She started to cross the bridge (you know how it curves) when a car came around the curve and Byron pulled her back before she could be hit.  It had to be him because I don't know who else it could have been. I remembered it because she died six days later and I always wondered if that incident on the bridge was a sign of things to come. She was attending James Smart Jr. High at the time she died.  Roberta

I just want to add a thank you to Linda for her original comments in 2009, because her posting is a perfect example of why we encourage all of you to write, post, share on this your class website.  The success of it is dependent on your participation.  You can see that Linda's comment certainly had far reaching results.
