Evelyn K. Brown Bodey, of Fort Wayne, died Monday, March 13, 2006 at St. Joseph Medical Center. Born August 1, 1946, in Fort Wayne, she was the daughter of the late Alvin S. Brown Sr. and Eva Loretta (Bluffington). She was an OB Tech at Lutheran Hospital for 27 years, retiring in 1992. She was a member of Grace St. John's United Church of Christ and Reseptive Home Economics Club.
Surviving are her husband, Wayne Bodey of Fort Wayne; daughter, Kathryn "Katie" Bodey of Fort Wayne; three brothers, Alvin S. Brown, Jr. and Jesse L. Brown, both of Fort Wane and Art Brown of Osceola; 10 nieces and nephews; and nine great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was Friday, March 17, 15 Grace St. John's United Church of Christ, Pastor Julia Goodall officiating. Visitation was Thursday, March 16, at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, Winchester Road Chapel, 6424 Winchester Road. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens, 96-C Lot 3

I remained friends since highschool with the Brown family. Infact Evelyn's maiden name was Brown. She is in the year book, need to post her pic. She had an older brother Alvin (passed just a few weeks ago), and two younger brothers Jess, and Art. Evelyn has a daughter Katie and (2) grandsons that she never got to see. She was a very giggly friend, always laughing when we were together. She loved SSHS and being an after school teacher's attendant.James C. Lawson
I visited the Brown family regularly whle attending James H. Smart School. They had a fairly large family and all of them were fun to be around. After grade school we drifted apart. Evelyn and her older brother were more my age. Nice memories.Susan K. Smith (Terry)
