 David L. Beard: The SSDI listed a David L. Beard, July 3, 1946-Oct. 30, 1996 who was living in Corbin, Whitley Co. KY at the time of his death. His Social Security card was issued in Indiana in 1962. I first contacted the Whitley Co. Public Library in Williamsburg, the county seat. The librarian said the microfilm reader was broken and that their collection of microfilm was being scanned and not currently available. I then contacted the library in Corbin. The librarian searched without any luck two nearby newspapers and said that they didn't archive the newspaper from Corbin. He did find a reference on the internet, and then I found it, on this David L. Beard which gave his birth and death dates,  that no known marriages or children were on record, and that his last residence was Corbin KY. I could not tell what the original source was for this information was.
