Jim was paralyzed in a freak accident in June of 1988, and as a result was a quadriplegic. He learned to paint with a brush, that was attached to his arm and and he painted many beautiful oil paintings. He also remembered that I loved daisies and he painted a very nice painting for me, which I will always treasure. Because of his health challenges there were very few things that he could do that he enjoyed. He did enjoy his last couple of years in the warmth of Florida , as he and Sandy decided to move to Cape Coral, where he so enjoyed being able to sit outside daily and enjoy his pool. He was fortunate enough to spend some time with his granddaughter Olivia, who was born January 3, 2000 and she won his heart. Unfortunately he did not get experience and enjoy his grandsons, as Preston was born October 3, 2003 and Payton was born February 4, 2004, but he would be very proud of them both.
