George Barfell, 68, passed away Monday, November 24, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. After a long history of health issues, he was finally able to "go home" and join many friends and loved ones that have passed before him. Born in Fort Wayne, IN, George worked for Fruehauf for 21 years and later worked for Sheller Globe in Grabill. In his spare time he enjoyed playing golf, bowling, fishing, and rooting for the IU Hoosiers and Green Bay Packers. Surviving are his loving wife, Linda; children: Stacey (Jeff) Dunfee of New Haven, James (Rick Williams) Barfell of Fort Wayne, Joey (Angie) Yovanovitch of Fort Wayne, Michelle Yovanovitch of Leo, and Tony (Christina) Raffieed of Fort Wayne; grandchildren: Saphian, Josh, Jessica, Sheyenne, Lukas, Courtney, Jacob, Stallone, Hanalies, Scarlette, Brandon, Matthew, Justice, Joey Jr., Hayden, and Austin; sister, Cheryl (Ron) Oliver, of Fort Wayne; nephews: Ron and Jason; and a niece Julie. George was preceded in death by son, Nick; brother, Dan; and parents, Leon and Opal Barfell. He will be missed, but the family knows that we will reunite again, and we find sense of peace and comfort in knowing he is with our Lord and finally free from pain. Funeral Service is at 2:00 pm, Saturday, November 29, 2014 at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road with calling 1 hour prior. Pastor Steven K. Conner officiating. Calling also Friday, November 28, 2014, 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne.
