Obituary for Judith A. Englehart

Judith A. (King) Englehart of West Hartford, CT (age 77) Died September 4, 2023. Judy was born in Fort Wayne, IN to Forrest and Dorothy King. Judy graduated from South Side High School in Fort Wayne. After bravely overcoming a traumatic childhood, Judy left Indiana behind for good to dedicate herself to her family. She always excelled at whatever she put her mind to. A successful real estate agent, a 20+ year Advanced Director position with The Pampered Chef, a talented artist and Certified ZenTangle Instructor, a dedicated employee at The State of CT Department of Labor, Division of Labor Relations, a mom, a grandmother and a great-grandmother. Judy was a foodie who loved to create delicious dishes for her loved ones, a thoughtful and generous gift giver, a lover of all animals, a beloved member of The Universalist Church of West Hartford, and the greatest at a good pun. She was a giver, an empath, and a seeker of justice. With her huge heart she was a friend to all. In Judy’s honor please cook a delicious meal, create beautiful art, have a glass of white wine, love a pet, tell your people that you love them and for goodness sakes, do not allow Donald Trump to win the presidency (again)!
Though they divorced, Judy created a family with Bob Englehart. She is survived by her children, who are going to miss her so much; Mark Englehart and Sherri Englehart-Shea and their spouses whom she loved as her own, Amy Clow and Michael Shea. Her grandchildren; Hannah Garmise and her husband Ben; Riley Shea; Mars Englehart-Clow; Katelynn Shea, and her Great-Grandson Owen Garmise. And her cherished “good boy”, her cat, Oz.
Please join us for a Celebration of Judy’s life on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at 10:30 AM at The Universalist Church of West Hartford. 433 Fern Street, West Hartford, CT
Memorial Donations in Judy’s memory can be made to Copper Beech Institute, The Universalist Church of West Hartford or an animal rescue of your choice.
Judy’s presence in this world will be missed so much

I am so sad to read about Judy.  It sounds like she had a very fulfilling life; and she was fun to know at S.

I hope whoever writes my obituary has enough sense to leave politics out of it.
