David Johnce Mullins passed away peacefully in his home in Sebring, FL on February 16, 2017. David was born on October 15, 1946 in Colorado Springs, CO. He was preceded in death by his father Johnce Mullins, Jr. He is survived by Cindy, wife, the love of his life and soulmate; Winnie Ruth Mullins, loving mother; David Scott Mullins (Tracey), the son who made his eyes sparkle; Lisa Marie and Cassie Lee, daughters and five grandchildren. David was an honest, open, sweet and vibrant man who enjoyed every day to the fullest. He especially enjoyed time with family and friends and had a great passion for fishing with his son, Scott. Dave was one of "The Clan" and a real friend back when we were tearing up the streets of Ft. Wayne. We had so many laughs and moments. I have so many memories. I heard only maybe two months ago he was not well, but he didn't want to talk about it so we didn't.

I am so sorry to hear of Dave's passing.  He has joined Steve Jugloff in the clan's archives.  Dave was funny and fiesty.  He was up for anything.  Many fond memories . . .

R.I.P. my man. We missed hacking around on the

course with you after you went back to Florida.

We had a lot of fun when we were kids. You took it like a man.

Proud of ya!

I remember Dave could talk his father into just about anything. Dave was an only child and "spoiled" doesn't begin to describe it. Dave talked his father Johnce into letting us take out his dad's brand new Pontiac Bonneville V-8 two-door supercar for a Saturday afternoon of driving freedom. It was me, Dan Jones, Dave and whoever else can claim a ride-along. We took turns behind the wheel and we were fearless, not to mention stupid in our risk-taking. We were drag racing anybody who challenged us. Racing light to light down Clinton, we were heading south toward the Dog House. The Bonneville was first class, luxurious, and had all the features you'd want in a muscle car, but it had one flaw. Power brakes. I was driving. I had never had so much power under my foot. What the hell, I had a 1950 Chevy, 6 cylinder four-door. We took on all comers. Finally, a '57 Chevy with a blower sticking out of the hood was idling at a light downtown next to W&D's. Smaller block, sure, but lighter and there was only one body in the car, the driver. We went from light to light for maybe four blocks. We kept the lead by a wheelwell and when I came to the next red light, I hit the brakes, and....nothing. It didn't even slow down. The brake fluid in the system was hot, boiling and totally gone. We cruised through that red light like we were heading to Mars. We were so lucky we didn't hit anybody, or be hit oureselves. After that, we drove home at a safe speed. We laughed about it all the way. We were young and bullet-proof.

To All who had the opportunity of knowing Dave Mullins, we are going to miss those memories. Throughout the ups and downs of our growing up, Dave had his share and we all got to be a little part of those memories. I will miss him and wish all the best to his family and friends. You are in my thoughts Mary Alice also......Tucker
