I was blessed to find Jon in Anchorage and bring a few of our children to him as a pediatrician. We had fun reminiscing a lttle about South Side when I would bring them in for checkups. His life is a wonderful testament of service to children. He was a personable and humble leader.

Classmates: If you haven't checked out Jon's obituary you need to read about this remarkable legacy!  And don't miss reading the comments left in his memory.  He was a remarkable, commendable man and deserves to have a biography written!  (Any authors out there?)  We can be proud to call him a SSHS grad!  I only knew OF him during our high school years. Many of you knew him well. People like him and like all of you are what has made our country strong. My condolences to his loved ones.  This is another reminder that this Christmas season can be difficult for so many.  May they (& we) find strength in our Faith! Prayerfully, Sherry

John was a fellow Archer Cross Country runner and a great pick up basketballer. Always an extraordinarily nice guy, John was fun to be around and clearly had his act together from an academic standpoint. What an amazing legacy he has left. I wa proud  to be his friend for a brief period of his life.

Jon and I were buddies in high school, but lost track of each other over the years. We double-dated a few times, and I remember one summer evening taking our dates out past the Eavey's to an old abandoned santitorium on (what used to be) the outskirts of southern Fort Wayne. It was dark, but there was a full moon, and we walked up the ramps and down the deserted hallways. It was scary and eerily exciting, like something out of a horror movie, when the young innocents venture into a building where they should not be. I also remember when he came back from his first year at Yale, where he had been on the crew team, and he was clearly much more muscular and self-assured. I liked Jon a lot and am sorry we did not maintain contact over the years. Did he ever come back for a reunion?  I think my first was our 25th, and I don't remember seeing him at the ones after that.

I too knew Jon from our high school days and held him in high regard. There were several fond memories, but one was that he lived near me and for a while I rode with him to school in his car--some kind of jeep as I recall--always a matter we joked about.

I loved that he was part of Indian Village! He took me to school every morning..Ned, you are right it was a jeep. Fond memories of a great guy.
